Take Charge of Your Stress Management
The second rule of stress management is to actively participate in the stressful situation. Instead of doing nothing, it is preferable to do something. Changing your life is the greatest way to cope with the stress you're experiencing. The problem of procrastination affects everyone of us, and it has the potential to rob us of valuable life moments. If we procrastinate and resist change, eventually it will force itself onto us, leaving us with no other option. We must learn to embrace change since it is an integral aspect of living a fulfilled life; else, we risk falling behind.
Every one of us needs to take stock of what we're trying to avoid, then tackle that problem head-on, ideally with some kind of control. If we can solve the problem ourselves, we won't have to worry or stress about it, and we'll know just how big of an impact it has and how much of a change is necessary. The onus is on you to reduce the stress in your life by making adjustments to how often or for how long it occurs. If someone says something nasty or brings you down, you can choose to ignore them or avoid talking about it. If at all feasible, remove these sources of stress from your life; avoiding them altogether is essential.
We will encounter uncontrollable stresses once we have established the controllable tensions. It doesn't matter what these stresses are; if not handled properly, the tension, aggravation, and accompanying emotions will eventually build up to pressure. Even when the change is out of our hands, we still need to figure out how to emotionally accept it and adapt. Once we embrace this, we may more easily navigate life with an open and receptive attitude, free from the masks we put on to fit in and conceal our true feelings.
When we finally pull the plug on acting like everything is fine, the next concern is usually how to continue living without becoming completely overwhelmed. The key is rediscovering the joy in life's simple pleasures. We need to train ourselves to value the flora that surrounds us. Small acts of kindness from strangers should brighten our days and strengthen our will to face life's challenges. Rejoice in minor victories, like completing a project or starting a kitchen garden. Do something nice for yourself—like and appreciate yourself.
Life is full with stress for everyone. There will be times when you need a pick-me-up attitude because life isn't always ideal. Despite the natural tendency to withdraw while under pressure, this is not the best course of action. We need to keep going and find the will to do it. No matter how bad things go at work or in our personal lives, we must keep going. We need to keep moving forward with our days, keeping the stress at bay so that we can excel in everything that we do. In times of mounting stress, it is essential to take care of ourselves and accept that our internal feelings of loss will be addressed and ultimately triumphed over.
So that they don't get out of hand, we'll have to deal with all the stresses that we compartmentalize eventually. Trust me, this is crucial. We need to make sure that the things that are stressing us out are dealt with, engaged with, and finally crossed off our lists so that we can create room for the new things that life throws at us.
